July 30, St. Martin

Well, the days turn into weeks very fast here.  We are still in St. Martin, BUT, we really are leaving in the morning.  Next stop is Guadeloupe.  Seems the friends, the parties, the beaches, the diving, the maintenance, and the weather all conspire to hold us here.  It is always "just a few more days".  Now, we have the last of our preparations done and are just waiting for the weather.  I wanted to take advantage of a calm sea and an ENE wind forecasted.  It changed overnight but I still want to get out and go.  The hurricanes are coming soon and I want to be well south.  After all, I don't want Gypsy Cat to look like our neighbor

What's going on here?  Well, I've been diving with our instructor and a friend and the last dive we did was 111 feet.  It was my birthday a couple weeks ago, so some friends joined us on a little sailing trip for a few days.  Christine has been hosting lots of dinner parties and we've been on lots of friends' boats.

Guadeloupe is about 150 miles and I hope to reach it in 30 hours or less.  The seas are going to be about 8 feet and we will be sailing close to the wind, so it will be un uphill hike.  But, I can't wait to go!
